Alain looks back to over 30 years of experience in development financing (on both political and operational issues). Prior to joining the EIB, Alain spent nine years in different functions at the French Development Agency. Since 2015, Alain has been a member of Baobab Holding Supervisory Board, a microfinance institution operating in Africa and China.
At the EIB, he headed the EIB Group Representation to China and Mongolia. Before, he successively served as Head of the Maghreb Division and of the Banks and Private Sector division of the EIB’s Western Europe Department. Recently, he was seconded to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. Alain was appointed as the Head of the EIB Group’s Hungarian Representation in September 2022.
