Pál Kovács is a senior energy industry professional with significant top management experience. Mr. Kovacs started his career at the Paks NPP in 1988 where he held various positions, soon head of department, project manager and senior advisor to CEO of the company. As senior nuclear expert, he also contributed to mission of the OECD NEA from 2004 to 2009. From 2010 to 2012 Mr. Kovacs served as Deputy State Secretary and from 2012 to 2014 as Minister of State in the Ministry of National Development, being responsible from the Hungarian energy sector. Between 2014 and 2017 he was advisor of the CEO of Paks II Ltd. In 2017 he was head of the Cabinet of Minister János Süli, as a Board Member in the same time period he controlled the progress of the Paks II project company. Mr. Kovacs was appointed as Nuclear Director in September 2018, and he has held the position of Chairman of Board at Paks Nuclear Power Plant since November 2018.
