Ada Ámon
Ada has been involved in climate and energy policy issues for more than 30 years. She was recently appointed by the Council of the City of Budapest to lead the newly established Budapest Climate Agency. She joined to work for Budapest for the request of the Mayor as his chief advisor on climate at the end of 2019. Then she was requested to build up the brand-new climate and environment department, which became the largest green city policy team in the CEE region over the course of the last 4 years. Prior to this position she worked with E3G – Third Generation Environmentalists – on European energy efficiency policy and CEE energy and climate policy. Previously she was the founder and CEO of the Budapest based thinktank, Energiaklub for more than 15 years. The establishment of the Hungarian Energy Efficiency Institute is also attributed to her name. She had been advising the Greens of the European Parliament on CEE energy issues. She appeared among the most influential women in Hungary according to Forbes in 2015 and was one of the three women awarded with the title Women in Energy by the European Commission in 2020.
