dr. Attila Kovács

In 1968 he graduated as a chemical engineer at the Institute of Technology in Leningrad. In 1973 he graduated as an engineer and economist from the Karl Marx University of Economics, where he received his doctorate in economics in 1975.

Between 1968 and 1970 he worked as a plant engineer at the Danube Petroleum Company, between 1970 and 1990 he worked at Mineralimpex Oil and Mining Company, initially as an engineer and salesman, then between 1985 and 1990 as deputy general manager. Between 1990 and 2000 he worked for Mobil Oil Austria mainly in Eastern European business development, and in 1990 he founded the consulting company of E-A Energy Consulting GmbH in Vienna, where he participated in several international projects in the oil and gas industry as managing director. Since 2004 he has worked as an employee and then as managing director of First Hungarian Biogas Ltd. (later First Hungarian Biogas and Solar Ltd.) on biogas projects in Hungary and Eastern Europe.

Between 2009 and 2018 he was a member of the board of the EBA (European Biogas Association) and between September 2016 and December 2020 he served as Secretary General of the European Renewable Gas Registry (ERGaR).

He was a supervisor on the BIOSURF and REGATRACE EU Horizon 2020 research and development projects, which aimed to create a common European biomethane market.

Representing EBA and ERGaR, as well as the BIOSURF and REGATRACE projects, he has given numerous presentations at professional conferences and other renewable energy events.
